Eclectus Males / Females
Breed
Red Sided Eclectus
Sex
Males & Females
Description-
-
Eclectus parrots are usually very easy going birds. They generally will go with the flow but often do have a favourite family member or two, like most birds. It's important to learn how you interact with your birds, and learn how to read their body language. Eckies are great talkers and we rate them number 3 in the world behind the African Grey and the Amazon parrots, for talking ability. No 1 generally for having an easy going disposition (keep in mind that like people we find they all have individual personalities). Call us to find out more about the differences of the personalities of the birds we breed.
-
We are very experienced (over 20 years), at hand rearing our beautiful baby Eckies. We start hand rearing when they are around 2-3 weeks old (as we find it does not stress them when taking them from the nest) . They are spoon fed not crop fed which we believe makes a difference.
-
When they have started eating a diet of Pellet, Fresh fruit and Veg, seeds and sprouts, they are ready to go to their new homes at around 8-10 weeks old.
-
At this age they may get spoon fed a combination of hand rearing mix and egg and biscuit mix- morning and evening. This is perfect time to bond with your bird. Please note: the birds at this age are eating a full diet and only get this for comfort and to bond with their new owners. We have found this is a great age to let them go- as they haven't fully developed a personality, and also have quite short term memories. They soon forget that we were their parents, and bond with you. They will squark for food to let you know they are hungry.
-
Your Eckie baby will have one of our closed rings on its foot, for identification, and to verify the age. These can only be placed on when the baby is small enough for it to slide on.
-
Your baby will be registered on our licence with The Department of Environment and Science, and gets transferred to yours (as proof of ownership).
-
The cost for one of our Eckies is $700.
-
You are welcome to come and see them when they are still young and being hand reared. If you find your new family pet at our place, and decide to purchase, you will receive a formal receipt with our header and details including our license number, your details including license number, hatch date, ring number, and weight.
-
You also receive toy package to the value of $50 from our online store. You can take these home when you pick up your new family member.
-
We ask a 20% deposit to secure your baby Eclectus Parrot and the balance is payable on pick up.
-

Hahns Macaw (Coming Soon)
Breed
Hahns Macaws

Description-
-
We were introduced to a very intelligent Hahns macaw in 2010 when running a bird boarding facility in Melbourne. Elise was quite opinionated, and at times noisy, but highly devoted to her owner. Hahns macaws are intelligent like the larger birds, just in a smaller model. A large bird intelligence without the mess a large bird (such as a full size Macaw) makes.
-
We hand rear our Hahns Macaws from 2-3 weeks old. They are spoon fed not crop fed, which we believe makes a difference.
